About

I’ve worn a lot of “hats” over the past few decades. I’ve served churches as pastor, served as chaplain in multiple contexts (military, hospital, prison, and emergency services), I’ve done some writing and been coaching leaders in a variety of settings.

I received my bachelor of arts degree from Trinity Christian College in 1997 with majors in psychology and educational ministry. After serving a few years as a youth pastor in Illinois, I continued full time studies at Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was then ordained and served churches in Washington and California. During that time I served our regional denominational leadership team in a variety of capacities to include recruiting and train aspiring pastors, coaching new pastors, and serving on the regional ministries board.

While there, I began studies at Fuller Theological Seminary‘s Doctor of Ministry program. I completed my Advanced Certificate of Transformational Coaching through Western Seminary in 2020 and am credentialed as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation of which I am presently a member.

I presently serve as a chaplain to the United States Navy and have served First Marine Division (Camp Pendleton, California), Naval Air Station Sigonella (Sicily, Italy), USS Ashland (LSD 48) in Sasebo, Japan, and United States Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown (Virginia).

Other activities I enjoy include sailing, scuba diving, trap shooting, hiking, reading, and hanging out with Heidi and our three children.
